Our Providers
Jason Blomstedt, DO
Dr. Blomstedt graduated from the Lincoln Family Practice residency program in Lincoln, Nebraska in June 2009. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. Dr. Blomstedt is originally from Hershey, Nebraska. He enjoys all types of medicine and offers osteopathic treatments in addition to traditional treatments. Dr. Blomstedt joined the McCook Clinic in July 2009.
Lorinda Reece, MD
Dr. Reece received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1997. She completed a three-year family practice residency in St. Louis, Missouri in 2000, before moving to McCook to practice. Dr. Reece also sees patients at Curtis Medical Clinic.
Matthew Nielsen, MD
Dr. Nielsen received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2015. He completed his family medicine residency program through the Rapid City Regional Hospital Family Medicine Program in Rapid City, SD. He began seeing patients at McCook Clinic in August 2018.
Naomi Olson, DNP-C
Naomi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing in 2012. She then earned her Doctorate in Nursing from Creighton University College of Nursing in 2017. Naomi began her practice in Grand Island and joined McCook Clinic in June 2018.
Alysia Sheets, PA-C
Alysia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Chadron State College in 2009. She then received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2012. Prior to joining McCook Clinic, she worked as a Physician Assistant at Tri Valley Health System in Cambridge. Alysia began practicing at McCook Clinic in August 2017.
Whitney Schoenemann, NP-C
Whitney graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2021 with her Master of Science in Nursing. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. In addition to a passion for taking care of people, she also loves teaching and is an advanced life support educator. Whitney previously worked at Community Hospital as an RN for over 10 years. She joined McCook Clinic in October 2021.
Kristin Fulkerson, MD
Dr. Fulkerson joined the McCook Clinic in August 2014. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Family Medicine Program. She began her career in Glenwood, IA with the Methodist Physicians Clinic where she practiced for 4 years but she always desired to establish a primary care practice in rural Nebraska. Her passion is primary care medicine and she truly enjoys seeing and treating patients of all ages.
Hope Ferguson, MD
Dr. Ferguson joined the McCook Clinic in August 2021. She is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Wyoming in Cheyenne. Dr. Ferguson’s desire to practice family medicine in a rural setting led her to McCook Clinic. She sees patients of all ages including obstetrical patients.
John West, MD
Dr. West joined McCook Clinic’s Medical Staff in September 1998, bringing with him five years experience from his practice in York, Nebraska. He completed medical school in 1990 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His residency was completed in June 1993 at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Affiliated Family Practice Program at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. Dr. West sees patients at McCook Clinic as well as Trenton Medical Clinic.
Alyssa Bauer, NP-C
Alyssa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Kearney, Nebraska in 2006. She then worked as a staff nurse for the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at the Nebraska Medical Center for three years while pursuing her master’s degree. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011 and worked as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse for Select Specialty Hospital until joining the McCook Clinic in February 2012 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Ashley Vontz, NP-C
Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2008. She then received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2018. Prior to joining McCook Clinic, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Community Hospital in McCook as well as at Crete Area Medical Center and the Nebraska Heart Institute. Ashley has been working in the healthcare field since 2006. She began practicing at McCook Clinic in September 2018.
Hannah Taylor, NP-C
Hannah graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University in 2018. Following graduation, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Community Hospital for four years. Hannah furthered her education at Chamberlain University and graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing in 2022. Hannah is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and worked at Decatur Health for a year before joining McCook Clinic in February 2024.
